Gabriel Project at Saint Leo

Gabriel Project is a ministry helping pregnant women in need.

Are you an expectant mother? Would you like to have a friend supporting and accompanying you on your journey to motherhood? The Gabriel Project is a Pro-Life movement offering parish- based pastoral care to women in a crisis pregnancy or expectant mothers simply in need of support. St. Leo the Great is an active participant in this ministry with volunteer “Angels” who are willing and able to help. Gabriel Project assists pregnant women with material, emotional, and spiritual support.

We are also looking for volunteer “angels” to support expectant mothers and be a friend.  We gather the FIRST Saturday of each month for the 9am Mass and the Holy Half Hour, followed by a meeting in the Parish Conference room to pray and discuss outreach opportunities. For more information call the Gabriel Project office at 703-841-2755.

Help for pregnant women

Prayer:

O Virgin, Mother of Life, we ask that you place our petitions a the feet of your Son, whom you welcomed into your womb with the greatest Trust.

We pray for all mothers, particularly those who are with child: that they may be supported by loved ones and warm friends, and that they may be understood and blessed; that they may receive the gifts of patient endurance and joyful hope; especially those wracked with fear: depression or despair, that the new life of their child may touch them with the eternal love of God and be as sign of hope.

For all who teach the Gospel of life that they may be driven by love alone.

For every little child, and especially for those who live in their mother’s womb: that they might grow in the image and likeness of the God who made them. Amen.
