Discover How You Can Make a Difference in Our Faith Community!
At Saint Leo, our volunteers are the cornerstone of our vibrant and nurturing faith community. Their dedication and selflessness bring our mission to life, as they share their time, talents, and resources to support our ministries, parishioners, and broader community in countless ways. Whether donating essential items, assisting during Mass, serving in outreach programs, or helping in classrooms and lunchrooms, volunteers embody the spirit of service that lies at the heart of our faith. Our volunteers are actively involved in every aspect of church life, from participating in liturgical ministries to attending and supporting events and faith formation programs. Their efforts build a faith-filled environment that strengthens the bonds of community and enriches the lives of everyone they touch. We are profoundly grateful for their dedication and the example of love and service they provide. We welcome everyone to join our ministries! Many volunteer opportunities are available that do not require OPCYP (Office for the Protection of Children and Young People) compliance, as long as they do not involve working with children. These include assisting with liturgical ministries, parish events, outreach programs, and more. However, any volunteers who serve in roles involving children—such as within our Faith Formation ministry, Homeschool Ministry, Youth Ministry, school classrooms, or during school field trips—must be OPCYP compliant. Also, all employees and contractors regularly on site must be fully compliant regardless of their potential contact with our youth or the number of hours they work. Compliance is an essential step to ensure the safety and well-being of all young members of our community. To become OPCYP compliant, follow these steps, links in italics:
